Delete the OST file?

I cannot open a live connection to my Outlook 2010 email in Windows 7. I
receive the following message: "Cannot open your default email folders.
Outlook is using an old copy of your Online Folder (.ost). Exit Outlook,
delete the .ost file, and restart Outlook. A new file will be
automatically created the next time you initiate a send/receive"

I went to c:\users\justin\appdata\Roaming\Microsoft\Outlook\

and there is no OST file in there to delete.

I fixed it by deleting the profile and remaking it.
Thank you Microsoft for being a pain in the ass. Maybe someday they'll
come out with a system that won't randomly corrupt files or settings.
Oh wait... somebody already did; it's called EXT4.

I hate to break it to you, but files can become corrupt on any file
system.

Seems to happen an awful lot in Windows for no reason. If there were a
power interruption I would understand. But through normal use files
should not become corrupt under any circumstances.
