Deleted Email Account - Email Keeps Coming

A

AnnW

I have Outlook 2003, POP3 email and Exchange Server. I have one of our
employees emal account set up on my computer. Her email went to her folder.
Today outlook starting sending all emails from July to now over and over
again. As soon as I delete the email, here it comes again. It became so
annoying, I went in and deleted her email account. I deleted the rules
showing her email going to her folder. Mail keeps coming to her but now it
is going in my personal Inbox. I then went in and made a new rule to put all
email coming to her email address to the deleted folder. I did that just 15
minutes ago and so far the email count is at 991. I have shut down the
computer and restarted. She is still coming in. Anyone know what to do
next? I have gone into my exchange server and made sure her account was gone
and it was. ??????????

Did you remove her mail profile? Did you remove her mailbox?

Yes, both have been deleted and the mail is still coming. I went into Tools
- Email Account - Selected Her Name and clicked on delete. I then went to
Control Panel and clicked on user accounts and deleted her account. She is
not on my Exchange account, so there should not be anything there. She is a
Pop3 account.

Do you have any other accounts configured. If so it might be that there is
some server rule set which forwards all the mail to another account and you
receive them there.

Did you delete her MAIL PROFILE (not account) from Control Panel->Mail Icon->Profiles?

Yes, I also went into the Mail Profile and made sure she was deleted. The
email coming in is not even current email. This is emails from July - I
delete and they come right back again. Between 6 pm - 10:30 last evening,
there were 7,660 emails in the deleted folder -- tons of duplicates. I
deleted all and this morning there are only 452 in the deleted folder. At
least it looks like things have settled down for now. Yesterday the emails
were coming in so fast, I could not even look at my email because the machine
kept locking up. I guess this one of those unexplainable things and we just
say the computer had a hick up.

I am having the same problem today. I deleted a large number of emails last
week and yesterday and now they are all returning - just like what happened
to you. Did you ever figure out what happened and if so can you tell me how
to fix it. Thanks
