Deleted Email Receipts

When I empty my deleted items folder, I sometimes get the following message:
“X†requested a notification be sent when message “xyz†is deleted. Do you
want to send a receipt?

This generally occurs for spam items (which I don't open and read - go
figure). Is there any way to permanently set Outlook so that I am not
prompted for receipts when items are deleted? I still want the option to
allow read receipts.

Outlook doesn't put Junk E-mail into the Deleted Items folder. It either
puts them in the Junk E-mail folder or it permanently deletes them. Are you
using rules to move incoming items to the Deleted Items folder? If so,
Outlook doesn't know they're junk and there's no way I know to disable the
prompting for receipts if you have that option enabled

If you change your rule to move them to the Junk E-mail folder instead, do
you still get prompted?

You could permanently delete items from the Junk folder - <shift><del>
them. Don't make a habit of <shift><del> - either Outlook items or
files (on yer 'puter) - you can't (easily) get 'em back.

Do you delete them or do you right-click the Junk E-mail folder and choose
"Empty"? (I don't know if it would make a difference, but it's worth
trying.)
