Deleted Emails Returning to Inbox

[Kara the Computer Tutor]

My client has Outlook 2003 and uses Verizon email. Thousands of past emails
she had already deleted suddenly appeared back in her inbox one day. She
deleted them all again and emptied her trash, but now they're back again.
Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

It DID turn out that messages were being left on the server. I deleted all
the messages in her inbox, as well as all the messages on the Verizon
webmail. Hopefully that does it!
