Deleted files are disappearing (IMAP)

When I delete an e-mail it just disappears instead of showing up in the
deleted files folder. I have checked for these files in my IMAP deleted
files, IMAP trash and personal deleted files. Can anyone tell me where these
files have gone? I don't want them permanently purged until I sign off for
the day or I choose to purge them.

do you have a view set that hides deleted items? they won't move to the
deleted folder, but remain in the mailbox until you use edit, purge deleted
menu.

Could MS please enable an option in Outlook for IMAP accounts that would tell
Outlook that when I delete a message in my IMAP folder it would move that
message to a designated folder. That seems to work in Netscape, Thunderbird,
Pegasus, Evolution etc... That way Outlook would handle all my e-mail
accounts similarly.
