On my iMac G5, I have Entourage set (under tools, schedules)"Empty deleted items folder" on quit. I quit every evening; the folder is never emptied. I do it manually.
It is the deleted items folder under "Folders on my Computer" - listing shows: Inbox, Drafts, Outbox, Sent Items, Deleted Items, Junk Mail." In other words, it's the deleted items that holds all the received messages which I delete before or after I read them. The junk mail rule does work.
As I've used Entourage for years, there are other Mail Identities that appear under folders on my computer from earlier Entourage versions. The is also a MobileMe trash - the latter does purge on exit. The Entourage one does not and never has.
