deleted items

i want to configure all programs to send deleted items to the recycle bin.
the box (in properties on recycle bin) where it says delete items
automatically is clear however they ar enot hitting the recycle bin

Not an Office feature. If a "recycle bin" needs to always be used, then
please acquire 3rd party software to do this. "Norton Protected Storage"
is one example.
