deleted messages reappear upon re-opening?

When I close Outlook, the message pops up, "Are your sure you want to
permanently delete..." -- and I hit "Yes". Sometimes (but not always) when I
re-open Outlook, the deleted messages have reappeared in the Deleted Items
folder. I get the same intermittent problem when I manually choose Empty
"Deleted Items" Folder from the drop-down menu. Anyone else having this
problem? Any ideas? It's not a major problem -- just annoying.

Hey Dave !

I gues you are not the only one with that problem. I am an administrator in
a company with about 60 employees and recently one of them describe me the
same problem you have it. Of course at the beginning I didn't beleive him
cause I can't imagine that items that have been deleted from the "delete"
folder. However two days ago another employee reported me about the same
problem. We are all using Outlook 2003.

Oh and by the way we are using exchange server for keeping e-mail. And no the
outlook is not offline and no tha chaching mode is not on

Anything interesting in your event viewer? If you look at their folders
using OWA do you still see the deleted messages? What if you delete them
from OWA do they go away?

Hey Ben !

Yeah if I take a look using OWA I still see the "deleted" messages that came
back. However I tried to delet them using OWA, now I can just wait. They can
come back in 5 min at next re-opening or over 1 week. I'll let you know.
Otherwise, any ideas what's goin on ?

own mail server (SMTP and all that) or are you ETRNing the mail from an outside
POP server or something like that?

own mail server (SMTP and all that) or are you ETRNing the mail from an outside
POP server or something like that?
