I want to recover some messages I deleted, but the "deleted messages folder" doesn't open. It just shows the number of deleted messages.

folder" doesn't open. It just shows the number of deleted messages.

How are you trying to open the folder? You should just need to select it
and view the messages in the message list on the right.

Hope this helps!

Thank you Bill,
I click on the folder as I do with any other folder. Only the other ones open, and the "deleted messages folder" doesn't.
It used to open normally, but since receiving an update from microsoft, it remains closed.
Now I think twice before deleting a message... Maybe it's an improvement after all. Nevertheless I welcome help.

I'm still not understanding what you're seeing. You're telling me "it
remains closed" but are you trying to actually double-click it and open
it or are you clicking on it and trying to view the items in the message
list on the right?

FYI, Entourage does have a preference under Entourage menu -->
Preferences... --> General Preferences --> General that you can enable
"Double-clicking in the Folders list opens a new window".

Thank you again,
I double click to open the folders, but neither a double nor a single click open the "deleted messages folder" in order to view the messages on the right hand side,as it's the case with any other folder.
Interesting it's the fact that flagged messages, once deleted, can be read again by double clicking this particular folder, but not the ones not flagged.
I've checked and tried every possible thing that's listed on "Entourage Preferences" to no avail.
Thank you for your interest. Xoan

Dear Bill,

I resolved the mistery. Against what I formerly said, I haven't checked thoroughly all options on Preferences.
There was a checkmark under "View" on "only earmarked" or "only flagged" (I'm using the German version, so I don't know what's exactly written on the English one) which I don't recall to have ever placed it there.
That thing was causing the trouble. I removed it and, voilà, all my deleted mails are again to be seen.
Thank you again for your kind help.
