Deleted Office 2004 trial; now documents can't be opened directly

Hi

I recently bought a new Powerbook. It came with the Office 2004 30 day
trial, which I deleted after 30 days, using the de-installer. Ever since,
whenever I try to open a document via its icon (I have Office X), I get
'unexpected error code 10660' message. Any ideas? Thanks.

Try this:
Do a get info (cmd-i) on a word doc. Go down to Open With. Set the open
with to Office X and click change all.

That should reset the file associations for double-clicking icons. Though I
don't know enough to be sure that error code is because of confused file
associations.
