The Project Server administrator should complete the following steps:
1. Log into PWA with administrator permissions
2. Click Admin - Manage Windows SharePoint Services
3. Click the Manage SharePoint Sites link in the sidepane
4. Locate the site for the project in question and then write down the
Project ID number for that project
5. Click Clean up Project Server database
6. Select the Projects and To-Do Lists option
7. DO NOT select the "Delete the SharePoint team Web site for the specified
project" option
8. Select the project from the data grid and click the Delete button
9. Launch Microsoft Project Professional and log into Project Server with
administrator permissions
10. Click Tools - Enterprise Options - Import Project to Enterprise
11. Select the new project and import it, taking care to match resources in
the project with enterprise resources
12. Click Collaborate - Publish - All Information
13. Close the project and exit Microsoft Project Professional
14. In PWA, click Admin - Manage Windows SharePoint Services
15. Click the Manage SharePoint Sites link in the sidepane
16. Select the new project and click the Edit Site Address button
17. From the SharePoint site URL, remove the ID current number and enter
the ID number of the old site (written down in step #4 above)
18. Click the OK button
19. Click OK when prompted
20. Select the new project and click the Synchronize button
21. Click the Yes button to synchronize the users for the site
22. Click the Projects menu in PWA
23. Click the row header for the new project and click the Edit button
24. Click the Owner field pick list and select the manager of the project
25. Click the Save and Close button
After completing the above steps, the project manager for the new project
should do the following:
1. Launch Microsoft Project Professional and log into Project Server
2. Open the project in question
3. Click Collaborate - Publish - Republish Assignments
4. Select the "Become the manager for these assignments" option
5. Click OK
