Deleted & Sent Items appear as folders, not list, help?

Operating System: Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger)
Processor: Intel

Recently, all the items that are in my Deleted Items and Sent Items folders, appear as folders, not listed items.

How do I shut that off?

I had one other user report this same problem. I forwarded this on to a
developer but have not heard back. I'll let them know. It might be helpful
to have another test case.
