Deleted tasks keep reappearing

I've three times tried to delete completed tasks from Entourage today (the first time as I don't use this function often, and they keep coming back.

I check the box completed; while that item is highlighted I select delete from the bar above; a message pops up telling me this is a reoccurring event do I want to delete all or one, I select all and it's gone. Later, an hour or two after I open tasks and they're back. I've done this three times and they still come back. They are tasks dated May -- it's really frustrating because I have more than 300 that keep coming back.

What can I do?

I don't believe recurring tasks in Entourage are linked to each other.
Checking one as complete should simply create the next task regardless
of whether you delete the first task or not.

Try *not* checking the task as complete and deleting it. Actually,
select all the tasks at once and delete them all at the same time.

Any good way to delete them all permanently?

If you click and hold you can select delete all or you can simply go to the
Task window, select the task and delete it.

But they keep coming back, that's the problem. I've so far tried to delete the same tasks five times and the same old tasks keep coming back. If the below photos work, you can see that these events date back to May. Also, even though I've selected "delete all" I still have to go through each of the 300 tasks individually which takes a long time.

Any suggestions? I just deleted the Projects they were attached to.

Are you by any chance using the Entourage for EWS beta?

When you say the tasks are coming back, do you mean that they are gone
until you restart or that they reappear while you're still in Entourage?

Why do you have to delete each task individually? What is preventing you
from selecting all your tasks in the list and deleting them at once?
What procedure are you following?

Try this on a clone of your Identity. If it works then you can repeat.

Under File --> Export select as Entourage archive (.rge) file and only
select Tasks. When it asks to delete after exporting, select yes. Import the
tasks back into Entourage File --> Import. Navigate to the .rge file. This
might clear the problem.

I deleted the projects those mail were connected to and then tried your suggestion. I'm not sure which one was the winner but they haven't come back.

Glad it's working. Thanks for sharing what you did to solve the situation.
We learn from user feedback. Entourage doesn't come with a troubleshooting
manual.

THEY CAME BACK! After all that, they came bloody back. I'm furious with the program. The only thing I can figure is this: When I restarted the computer this morning the Office Reminders window poped up and it said I had 323 late tasks or some such and when I opened Entourage there they all were again, plus the new ones I put in.

If we're making a Troubleshooting Manual here, there's plenty of trouble here to start with.
