Deleted tasks

I am extracting my project data (from a master of inserted
projects) into excel and I am getting data that has been
deleted from the schedule. How can I prevent this from
occuring other than manually deleting them from my extract.

Hi Michelle,

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup :)

Pass :( However you could try saving to database and then reloading, this
could get rid of redundant data. You could try the suggestions in FAQ Item:
43. File Bloat? - Might be Corruption.

FAQs, companion products and other useful Project information can be seen at
this web address: http://www.mvps.org/project/.

Hope this helps - please let us know how you get on :)

The problem might be that the tasks are not deleted from WPA. You can easily
check this by opening the tasks in WPA and check if there is an X in front of
the deleted task. If that is the case, there are 2 options to get rid of it.
(1) Ask the assignee to hide to task or (2) run a query that automatically
hides all tasks that are deleted (Update MSP_WEB_ASSIGNMENTS Set
WASSN_REMOVED_BY_RESOURCE = 1 Where WASSN_DELETED_IN_PROJ = 1).
