Hello all,
I'm just finishing writing my university dissertation in MS Word. In my
attempts to insert an international character, i seem to have done something
strange. Upon failing to get the right character in lowercase, I tried to
delete the selected text, but it's still present, only with red font and
striked through. On top of this, all subsequent text that i type appears in
the same style - red and underlined. Formatting the font doesn't appear to
change it, nor does simply deleting the text.

I'm very confused!
Could someone please help me?

You have turned on Track Changes. See this article for information about how

Sammartingell,
You've got track changes turned on?
Look at the status bar at the bottom of your screen, in the middle there is
an indicator if track changes is on, it has the letters TRK on it, if the
letters are black, it is on.
To turn it off double click the TRK button in the status bar. Then activate
the Reviewing toolbar, click on the Accept change button and choose Accept
all changes.
