deleteing an email w/ rt click

when using 2007 outlook I'm not able to delete an email either from keyboard
delete or by right clicking.

I am able to drag to delete folder and I can use shift key to select several
emails and delete but I'd like to be able to delete using above avenues.

Any suggestions?
