Deleting a paragraph changes the style of the following paragraph???

K

Keith Brickey

I often encounter this problem: An unwanted Normal paragraph precedes a
Heading 1 paragraph. I delete the unwanted Normal paragraph and the
following Heading 1 paragraph loses its style and is left as a Normal
paragraph. I am doing something wrong?

This behavior has (I think) changed with different versions of Word. Try
going to the beginning of your heading paragraph and backspacing.

Just want to make you aware, Keith, that paragraph format settings are
stored in the paragraph return that follows the paragraph. And, as Charles
says, I'm not exactly sure about the versions either, but that's why it
occurs...
