Deleting a resources completed task

When a resource has fully completed a task 100%, they can type this in
themselves via Tasks on the PWA. They can then click update and save changes
and an email will be sent to the administrator for approval so this can be
updated on project.

My question is, when the administrator appoves of the update and the 100%
work complete is updated on MS Project, how do you delete the completed task
that is still on the resources PWA view 'Tasks'? There is no point keeping a
task there if it has been completed.

Thanks

Hi..
Why do you use Microsoft Project Server if you want to delete completed
tasks? The manager needs all of the information about the Project for a good
Projectmanagement. How can you have any idea about the Project if you delete
the completed tasks for example if you use Portfolio analyse.
You can just use a Filter to hide copmleted tasks.
And if you finisch the whole project, there are solutions to hide all of the
tasks, without deleting the project..
bye..

I just want to delete the completed tasks from the resources view. I don't
see the point of having completed tasks on their Task View. If say there are
20 tasks assigned to one resource and 10 tasks are 100% complete, then on
that resources Task view, 10 tasks will say 100% (long list!).

I dont want it to be deleted from my project, just want them to be deleted
from the resources Task view on PWA.

Sorry if i have confused you.

If it's in the timeheet view, the task will disappear from the timesheet
(Current Tasks) when the PM or Administrator approves the update. The person
can still see the task if they switch to All Tasks. A completed task can be
hidden (unless it is on an Administrative project) but I do not recommend
resources do this until several days or weeks have passed. The deliverable or
work the person was contributing to may be rejected or require additional
work to incorporate updates.

If the issue is with another view in PWA, filter out all tasks that are 100%
Compelte.

Or how about just going to Admin / Clean Up Project Server Database /
Tasks / Delete only completed task assignments?

Rick,
What kind of reporting are you speaking of? This process only removes
the tasks from the timesheet view as MAT requested. It does not remove
actual work from the project plans or from the reporting tables. jb.

Hi New2Project,

I understand that you want to clean up completed tasks from the resources'
timesheet. RickD suggested to wait some time until they drop out from the
"Current tasks" time frame.

You can also ask to your resources that once the task is completed, just
select it and choose the "Hide" command just above the timesheet grid. This
will hide the task on the timesheet, but it will not delete the resource or
the actual work or progress from the project.

If one hid uncompleted task by mistake, just ask the PM of the project to
republish this assignment to restore the task.
