deleting autocomplete suggestions

When I fill out the "to" section of an outgoing email Word
suggests some AutoComplete email addresses. Handy feature,
except that it seems to remember every email address I've
ever used and suggests people I never want to email again.
Is there any way I can delete these extraneous addresses
so the feature can be truly useful?

Have you tried just putting your cursor on these unwanted names and pressing
the delete key?
