Deleting Box around Text

D

I m attempting to create a newsletter for an interest Group using Word
for Mac and using the 'capsule' template in Word. I would like to
insert text in the color banner located onthe left side of the page.
To place it in the banner, I found the best way was to insert a text
box and place my topic in the text box. But when I finish the text
and go elsewhere on the page the text still appears with the box. Is
there any way to remove the box or can you recommend a different
procedure of placing text on the banner in a desired location?

Dear [whoever],

I'm assuming that by "text still appears with the box" means "text still
appears with a line around it", and that you're happy to still have the text
in the text box as long as there isn't a line around it.

Double-click the edge of the text box; a window "Format text box" will
appear. Then choose Line -> Color -> No line -> OK.

* SUGGESTION -- KEEP REVISITING AFTER YOU POST: If you post a question, keep
re-visiting the newsgroup for several days after the first response comes
in. Sometimes it takes a few responses before the best or complete solution
is provided; sometimes you'll be asked for further information. Good tips
about getting the best out of posting are at

blank page and have to hit the circular arrow icon -- "Reload the current
page" -- two or more times).

Clive,

Thank you very much for your assistance. Your recommendation worked
like a Charm. Hope all is well "DOWN UNDER".

Again, Thank you,
Darrell

You're very welcome, Darrell!

Yours is a good example of how people can ask questions that enlarge the
experience of the regulars here. Personally, I never go near text boxes
(don't have anything against them -- I just don't need them, since graphic
designers take my documents for publication). When I saw your question, I
thought: "Have a look at it". So I experimented, and now we're both the
wiser.

So thank *you* for asking!

And yes, we're doing well down here!

cheers,

Clive H
