deleting connections when deleting shape

Hello,

Is there a way to delete all connections to a shape when deleting a
shape?

I've got a situation where there are a lot of connections connecting to
a shape I'm deleting. However, after deleting the shape, the
connections are still there (pointing to an empty space). The
connections are not easily selected via lassor or the area select tool,
as they cross other shapes etc.

Try this:

Go to Tools > Options > General tab.
Choose Select shapes partially within area. Click OK.
Now use lasso select to draw a boundary that just catches the endpoints of
your connectors.
Make sure to completely exclude any shape you don't want to delete or use
Shift-click to remove it from the selection.
