Deleting Data

Joel

Hi; I am looking for a way to select an entire sheet then delete only the
data from it, leaving all formulas and formats intact. Any help will be
greatly appreciated.

-Select the range you want to remove all non-formulas from.
-Press F5 and click Special.
-Select "Constants" from the ensuing dialog and click OK.
-Only the cells with numbers or text in them will then be selected.
-Press the {Delete} key.

If you don't like the result press Ctrl-z to undo.

Note that in the GoTo Special dialog you can fine-tune your selection - you
can pick whether the constants selected are numbers, text, etc.

Hi Joel..........

I assume you have some sort of form filled out that also includes cells
with labels identifying the cell entrys next to them........some of those
cells have formulas, and some only entered values........and I assume it's
the "entered values" you're wanting to delete............that being the
case, I would create a non-contiguious Range consisting of all the cells I
wanted to erase, and give it a name "DataEntry", and then record a macro to
GOTO "DataEntry" and ClearContents.............this may leave some cells
with formulas in them to give error results or odd answers, unless they have
been tuned to accomodate blank cells.........
