deleting deleted messages from outlook

I can't delete messages form the deleted essages file. I get an error
messages. I am in desperate need of help. I have over 21000 messages to
get rid of.

And what error messages might those be? What do they say?

Can you delete them in small batches or does the same error come up?

Are you using an Exchange account or is this a POP3/IMAP4 account? In
either case, is there a webmail version that you can try to delete from?
Are you using a .pst as your primary delivery location?
