I remember being that new, once. We all do
You open the Finder, select the document (make sure it's closed first...)
then either drag it to the Trash or hit Delete (Command + Delete, if your
keyboard does not have a Forward Delete key ‹ e.g. A laptop).
Keep coming back!
When I have saved a document,how do I delete it later when I no longer want to
keep it?
