There are many differences between the way PC's, and Mac handle things.
PC's allow you to delete files from *anywhere* from desktop, or within
applications.
Apple has found That people tend to be a little trigger happy when
deleting files from within applications so they have never allowed the
ability. While Apple doesn't assume people are dumb. They do try to help
you, help yourself and save you from bone headed mistakes. One of these
That you have to go back to desktop(finder) look for the file. This
gives you a few extra seconds, to think about what you are doing and if
you set it up in finder Preference It will even warn you when you are
about to empty Trash. This gives you opportunity to look and see if the
version of the file is the one you really want to dump.
PC's go about that slightly different They throw items in waste Basket
but don't allow you to remove anything until you go to Wastebasket to do
so. Similar to Mac but not quite as friendly.
AS you use your Mac you'll find other differences.
Happy Mac Using.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!!
I am fairly new to Mac, 3 months and counting..and thought I was either increadibly stupid, or going crazy!!! I knew I could delete files, but had been unable to recently, and thought I was losing my marbles!!!
