Deleting Duplicate Messages

Am using Outlook 2007 and for some reason have hundreds of duplicate
messages in my "archives" "sent but keep" folder. Does anybody know if
there is an easier method of deleting them other than to organize the
sent messages by date and then high lighting and using the control
key. Am really mystified as to why there are these duplicates and how
to prevent it from happening again.
