Deleting field from existng table

I posted this question two hours ago but it didn't show
up in the list. I am posting it again, hoping someone can
help me here.

I need to add/delete fields to/from an existing table
using VB code. When I CreateDef command, it always say
the the type doesn't match. I also couldn't use "Dim tbs
AS TableDef". I am using Access 2000. Don't know whether
my code was wrong or something in my Access is missing.
