deleting files in Word

I have several files in MS Word when I click on file. How
do I delete these files started and not finished by
choice. I no longer need them and would like to delete
them from Word. How do I do this.

Press Ctrl+Alt+Hyphen and click on the document you want to remove. Be
careful with this shortcut, as it will remove any menu item you click on. It
is "used up" after one click, and you can also turn it off using ESC.
