Well, a friend had to print some stuff off from my
computer and she opened up her files. Now they still
open on my computer, but I want them gone. The appear
when I open Word in the File pull down menu at the
bottom. I have searched for these documents, and they
are not found. I want them deleted, please help.

What you are referring to is the frequently used file list
that always shows up under File. Your friends files will
stay there until you open up enough files to "bump" them
off the list. There are two ways you can get around
that. One is temporary - open Tools/Options, click on the
General tab and either turn off the "Recently used file
list" option or change the number to 0 (which does the
same thing as turning the option off). The other option
is a bit more risky and involves editing your registry
file - which I do not recommend. I suggest you just go in
and open about a half dozen of your files and your friends
files will disappear.

Good Luck,

Brian

There is a third, much simpler way. Press Ctrl+Alt+Hyphen. The mouse pointer
will change to a big minus sign. Click on the file you want to remove. Be
careful with this shortcut, as it will delete *any menu item* you click on,
but it is "used up" after one use, and you can dismiss it with ESC.
