Deleting Invalid Links

stan sitek

When using the delete links add-in, six out of seven links
found were successfully deleted. The remaining link
returned the following error msg:

Routine location error code: 6. Some defined name links
may not be deleted.

The deleted links reference sheet listed an internal link
location of NA for this link. This link still appears
when attempting to edit links. Any idea how to find and
subsequently delete this invalid link?

never used that add-in

but i have found that when your working with named ranges
and several spreadsheets that thier will be times when the
named ranges will cantain links with in them.

if they ant their you can use ctrl-f and search for a "["

that should find any links but that may take some time if
you got a big spreadsheet

hope that helps

Stan,

You may have done this, but did you look in the Insert Name dialog box
(Insert/Name/Define)? I've been in similar situations and have found
defined names whose references are no longer valid.
