Deleting list of files under "Open a Workbook"

How do I delete the list of files that have been opened
under the "Open a workbook" screen? I am new to all of this!

If you mean the file list that displays when you select File, Open in Excel,
I don't know of a way to delete the file names displayed there. However,
you can select Tools, Options, General and indicate how many file names you
would like displayed there - I think 9 is the limit, or deselect the option
so that no file names display there.
