deleting "my templates"

I have unknowingly created templates that aren't actual files now saved on my computer. But when I am in an open workbook, I have the option of inserting these templates. I would like to delete them, as I no longer use them, but can not find out how. Can someone help me? Thanks!

Although their content & internal structure differ from workbook files
templates are none the less stored as files in the same manner as any other
type of file. Delete them the same way...

Navigate in a Finder window to the folder where they're stored & trash them.

This is also assuming that you are actually referring to templates - your
wording makes that questionable because templates don't get "inserted" into
new workbooks. If you have any trouble locating them you'll need to specify
which version of Excel you're using as file locations differ on that basis.
