Deleting options from drop down menus

How do you delete options that you create when you click on the plus
sign next to a drop down field.
For example in the issue form under the status drop down menu someone
added a value that can be selected that does not need to be there.

Any ideas?

Simply delete the record that has this field value.

Have a look thru the views to see the offending record.
