Deleting or Cutting a dangling line closes the program.

I just lost about an hour's worth of work because of this
defect. Its reproducable on every machine I can get my
hands on. We have Visio 2002 SR-1 installed on our
network.

I've tried to find a way to let Microsoft know about this
defect, or see if they were already aware of it, but
wasn't able to accomplish either task.

I'm going to leave it in the hands of the forum to make
sure Microsoft knows about this, since its a pretty nasty
defect.

Here's the easiest way to reproduce the problem.

1) Open Visio
2) Choose Drawing Type from "Organization Chart"
3) Select a type (not the wizard)
4) Drag an Executive box to the page
5) Drag and drop a Manager box on the Executive box
6) Click the line now connecting the manager box to the
Executive box
7) Locate the red box connecting the line to the Executive
box
8) Click and drag the located red box to any place other
than the Executive box (drag and drop to any empty space)
9) Validate the Manager box line is now NOT connected to
the Executive box
10) Click the Manger box
11) Press the Delete button on the keyboard
12) Click the now "dangling" line
13) Press the Delete button

At this point the program closes without notice of error
or problem. No temp file is saved.

Variants on this defect include changing the type of box
(doesn't matter, as long as a box is connected to a line)
and right clicking the dangling line, and selecting "cut"
(will close the program as well), or changing what the
line is connected to. (If the "dangling line" is
connected to another line, the same will occur)

Work around: Delete the line first, then the box.
