Deleting Pages with "Unknown Error"

W

WAR

My 12 year old son got on my computer and mistakenly printed 16 pages to
OneNote 2007 Beta (which was set up as my default printer). They went into
the "Unfiled Notes" section.

When I attempt to view them, I see "An unknown error occurred while opening
this page". I cannot find a way to delete these pages. Does anyone have an
idea on how I can get rid of these?

Do have other stuff in the "unfiled" section which you'd still need ?
In case not, you could just delete the section.

The "Unfiled Notes" actually is showing up as a notebook in the list on the
left of the screen (above the permanent "All Notebooks") with a tab entitled
"unfiled notes" in it. There is no option to delete the section either by
right clicking or going in the edit menu, so I attempted to open a new
notebook, found the "unfiled notes" notebook, right clicked and chose
"delete".

After going through this process, the notebook still remains.

On a side note, I found a copy of the "unfiled notes" section in another
notebook . . .

Are sure it is really shown as a *notebook*???
Normally it's there a stanadard element, not a notebook. And it has a
different icon ( 3 pages spread).

Sorry, I was not precise enough.
What I had in mind was deleting the *file* and this *outside* of ON,
in the Explorer.
so I attempted to open a new notebook, found the

Yes the thing cannot be removed inside ON because it's a standard
element.

Prior to doing anthing else, check which place you have specified as
the location for the standard section "Unfiled Notes".
This could be a section in another notebook, it could a separate file.

Unforteuntaly in the moment I can not do any further testin on
deleting the section and re-creating it as I'm having "Verify the
Index running and this blocks the usage of ON :-( :-(

I'll further check things once ON will be operable again.

Done so.
- Open "Tools Options";
- under "Storage" check where and under which file-name the section
"Unfiled Notes" is stored;
- close ON;
- in the Explorer navigate to this place;
- delete the file.

On re-opening ON the file will automaticalle be recreated again.

WARNING: Do only do that after having moved all pages with still
needed unfiled notes to a notebook.
