Deleting Published Frontpage Web

Hi all, i have what seems to be a simple enough problem that i simply jsut
cannot figure out, so maybe one of you can help.

I created a website some 6 odd years ago for a charity organization using
Front Page 2000. Just reciently ive redone the website and made it in
Dreamweave CS3. Now i have all the permissions and passwords to acess the
website yet everytime i go to bring up the online websever using FTP in
Dreamweaver CS3 i cannot acess it. Im able to access the website only in HTTP
(webDAV?). While accessing the website with WebDAV i can only read files and
not write?

so my problem basically is i cannot publish the new site. what do i have to
do? go back into frontpage 2000, delete all online files there and then use
Dreamweaver CS3? Or am i just making a stupid mistake?

Any and all help is appreciated, thanks ahead of time.
Pat Ovens.

Try accessing the server with a stand-alone FTP program. I mostly use
Firefox's FireFTP plugin but there are plenty of other programs out
there.

Do you have access to your host's control panel for the domain? If so,
I'd go in and remove the FP server extensions or ask your hosting
company to remove them.

You may also be able to transfer files via "file manager" within the
control panel.

On all my webs, the FP (http) username and password are the same as
the FTP UN/Pass. Might your host have separate un/passwords for http
and FTP?

Another idea, although maybe not the best, make a new FP web on your
computer, pull all the CS3 generated files into this new web, publish
via FP.

If the site has FrontPage extensions then it is possible that the host
has disabled FTP access, since FTP often corrupts the extensions. The
remedies are to open the local site in FronPage and Publish with
FrontPage, or to remove the extensions from the live site and enable
FTP.

Your Webdav experience is successful compared to mine - I could only
view the file list, could not open a page even for reading.
