Deleting record in subform Access 2007 - weirdness

I haven't seen this before. Main form - subform situation. ACCDB

Subform has records.

Right click on the record selector in the subform shows no "delete
record" but has "add record" - yet AllowDeletions is ok enabled in the
subform.
Hit the delete key with the record selector having focus and the
record can be deleted
Hit Ctrl+X and the record can be cut.
But the UI appears not to give a clue that this is possible.

Any tips and ideas appreciated.

In the A2007 Northwind sample application the "Delete Record" option
is in that popup menu. Compare it with your app.
