Deleting Shared Files???!!!

Hi All,

I was wondering why it is possible to delete shared files
whilst they are in use by Excel 97. I can just go into
windows explorer and delete them, even though the file is
write reserved. It is not possible to delete the same file
when it is not shared.

Any ideas as to why?
