deleting single messages off the server

Hi. I recently changed to Outlook 2007/Entourage (PC at home/Mac at office)
from Eudora. I like it much better, however, Eudora allowed me to delete
single messages from the server. So, if I was at home and I received an
e-mail about my phone bill for example, I could delete that message from the
server so that when I went in to work the next day, my work computer didn't
pull it. Also, I could delete work-related messages from the server so that
when I went home, my home computer wouldn't pull those.

I have figured out how to leave messages on the server and delete them all
after a certain amount of time.

Can anyone help?

Add the 3rd option shown there:

Remove from server when deleted from 'Deleted Items'

Then delete them from the Inbox and delete whenever you feel like from
the Deleted Items folder. Deleting from the Deleted Items folder is a
permanent delete (since obviously the first one just *moved* the item
from one folder to another). I haven't tested this but you can
permanently delete an item in any folder by using Shift+Del. Maybe this
quicker permanent delete will also result in removing the item from the
server.

outlook doesn't support this level of deleting. You could use the delete
from server when deleted from outlook option. Tools, Accounts, select the
account and click change then More settings - its on the advanced tab.

OK-Thanks. That's kind of what I figured.

I understand that if I delete something permanently, then it's off the
server. The problem is that I don't want to delete work e-mails from
Outlook, I simply want to take them off the server so that my home computer
doesn't pull them.

Well....chalk one up for Eudora.

Yeah, Eudora does some things better... but you could always copy the
message to a pst then delete the original.
