Deleting Temp files

I have had to copy the contents of this post over from the original post

Hi Graham

Thanks for that. The temp folder is empty, I think. I find that I have over
a 1000 files when I do a search. some of the files are obviously word docs.
When I right click on one of these files and open the folder containing the
file 'My Documents' opens and there are a large number of temp word docs,
they are I suppose more like scrap docs as opposed to temp docs. They will
not delete. I have activated show all hidden files but if I open my
documents by the normal process these files do not appear.

PS I clicked to be alerted if there was an answer to my post but I was not
alerted!

Note that it is normal for Word to create temporary files when it is running.

creates temporary files"). As Graham wrote, you should be able to delete any
"left-overs" once you exit Word. You may also want to take a look at this
