Deleting Text in Word

L

Larry

Here's a problem that's making me nuts but I'm sure the
solution is simple. I'm running Word in Office XP SP2. All
of a sudden, when I select text to delete in a document by
highlighting it and hitting the delete key, I get a little
confirmation message that pops up at the bottom of my
Status Bar saying "Delete Block? No (Yes)". How do I turn
this off? I've never seen it before and it's a real pain.
Thanks.
