Deleting Text

Hello
When I am editing a word document and i highlight text to
delete it using the 'backspace' button on my keyboard, it
won't delete. Now I have to use the "delete" button to
get the highlighted text to delete. this is a recent
problem, how do i fix this?

In Word, go to Tools>Options>Edit Tab
Make sure that the box 'Typing replaces selection' is checked.
Word treats 'BackSpace' as typing.
