deleting tmpDDE

D

Dorna Tucker

I can see "WordTmpDDEMod" in VBA however when I right click on the filename,
the remove prompt is not there. I search for normal.dot and deleted the
file. Still unable to open document. How can I delete this file? Any advice.
Thank you.

TmpDDE is a temporary macro that is created when you open a document
outside Word, such as double-clicking a document on your Desktop.

Typically this macro is deleted once the document is opened but if
Word happens to crash at just the right time it remains. And normally
if Word finds this macro while attempting to create it the next time
the original one is usually deleted.

If you are encountering a message along the lines of "Ambiguous
TmpDDE" when you try to open a document then delete the TmpDDE macro.

Otherwise I'm not sure I follow the actual problem you are
encountering and additional details would be helpful.
