Deletion of records in Reporting DB ProjServer 2007 SP2

Hi everyone,

We have some problems with the deletion of projects and tasks and the time
assigned to them in the reporting db. In our scenario we delete all the data
from the publishing database and then we perform data import from third-party
system. What happens is that the deleted records from the published db stay
in the reporting db and after the import and the new records are copies to
the reporting db, thus making all records appearing multiple times.


Has anyone had a similar issue and can advise me on what is the best
approach to clean up the reporting db.

Marie:

I think that because you're doing the external update, that the system is
generating new GUIDS, so it doesn't know that these are duplicates. What you
can do to fix this is force a rebuild of the RDB by backing up your
Enterprise Custom Fields using the Administrative backup feature and then
restore them. This will cause a complete refresh of the RDB.
