Yes Phillip, the feature *does* work in Word 2004 but the barcodes it
inserts are *not* in compliance with USPS requirements & *shouldn't* be
used. Even valid codes are only used for large volume bulk rates - inclusion
on individually mailed pieces or even large mailings sent First Class is
utterly pointless. The main reason barcodes were even introduced was to
enable faster handling of volume mailings => discount on postage. Using the
appropriate 9 digit zip is what insures accurate delivery, not barcodes -
the USPS is now using OCR for sorting.

The codes have not been revised for Office 2004 and the feature was
therefore disabled in Office 2008.
