Hi
2 useful features of Outlook are the "request a delivery receipt" and
"request a read receipt". Is this available in Entourage? If so, how is
it done?
thanks
Mike
Mike:
I think your solution is as follows:
Create a new account (call it Return Receipt or something like that) in
which you leave the receiving email information blank (ignore the warning
that will pop up when you try to save the account) and insert your usual
sending info (smtp.earthlink.net or whatever) which you can copy from your
main account to be sure you have it all correct.
Then, click on the "Options" tab at the top of the window and in the
additional headers section, in the left column (called "Headers"), insert
the following without the << and >>.
<<Disposition-Notification-To>>
Then, in the right column, (called "Value"), insert your email address,
bounding by a left and right arrow. For example, based on your email
address above, you would insert <
[email protected]> (with the left and
right arrows).
The only problem with this is that you will not always get a read receipt
since on some systems it actually requires the recipient to click on a
window that says that you have requested a receipt and some systems ignore
it altogether.
I have used it for years and it even tells me, sometimes, that my email has
been deleted without being read (which hurts a guy's feelings) but is
important to me since I am an attorney and sometimes I want to know what has
happened to my emails after I have sent them out.
Let me know if that works for you! Remove the .invalid from my email
address and you can reply.
