deny user permissions to create project

Hey

We use Project 2007 and Project Server 2007.

On PWA I've created a custom groups based on the Exective template. In the
global settings for this group, section "Project" I denied users of this
group to create new projects and denied them permissions to create proposal
or new activity.... But still when I login as user of this group and view
the Project Center. There in the menu "New" the menuitems "Project" and
"Activity" isn't disabled... I can for example click on the "Activity", then
I'm taken to a window saying I'm not having access to this.. That is okay..
I just thought that if the user is denied access to create new project, then
the Project option should be disabled or removed from the menu "new"...

any suggestions? is this how it is suppose to be?

Your expectations were reasonable, but not correct, as you already
determined. I know of no way to change this behavior. Therefore, make it a
training issue with your executives and move on. Hope this helps.

Thanks, just one more thing:

In the global settings for this executive group, I denied users of this
group to create new projects and denied them permissions to create proposal
or new activity.... But still when I login as user of this group and view
the Project Center, then I can still create a new project - I clicked New |
Project and then MS Project 2007 started on my computer with an empty
project... I thought as this person is in a group which is denied creating
projects, he shouldn't have permissions to create projects....

any suggestions??

This permission denies them the ability to create new projects on the
server. It should fail at the first attempt to save it to the server.
It does not restrict their ability to create and save project files to
their desktop.
