Dependency errors

Dan

When I create a package from my VB program, using the Package and Deployment Wizard, I get the following two warning messages

1. Below is a list of files for which dependency information could not be found: MSWORD9.OLB

2. The wizard found information for the listed files, but the information is out-of-date: mscomctl.ocx and SCRRUN.DLL

Do either of these messages mean that there will be problems installing my application on another system? Is there anything I can do to remedy them

Sincerely
Dan

1. It's a breach of copyright to distribute MSWORD9.OLB; and there's no
point anyway. If your app uses the Word library, then your target user must
have Word installed on their system already.

2. I've seen these out-of-date messages too, and they don't seem to matter.

Yes, almost certainly you will have problems intalling your app. The P & D
wizard just doesn't work very well. Check this article for the most common
problem: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;191096
