deploying infopath form containing code

Hello

i want to know how can I deploy the infopath form containing VSTA code.
Since my code contains connection strings and control bound to
database. Everytime I want to deploy the form, the form needs to be
opened in client and connection string needs to be changed.

Also , it becomes the pain if the VSTA is not installed on the
production system. Can anyone guide me to the better procedure.

madhur,
At present InfoPath does not provide a way to easily change connection
strings. You could however store your connection information as part of the
form's xml structure, and load them in when the form first loads. Although
this does create a potential security risk.

This issue has been addressed in InfoPath 2007 and SharePoint 2007 as you
can now store your connection information in Connection libraries. So your
second option is to perhaps live with the pain for now with the plan to
upgrade when 2007 is relased.

If it loooks viable to move to 2007 in the future you could then also
download beta 2 of office and sharepoint and start using that now rather than
waiting.

I hope this helped

Cheers

Hi Ben

Thanks for the reply. I am using 2007 Beta 2 only.

Even with the solution of conection library, we have to change the
location of .udcx file in
the infopath form when we will move our infopath form onto altogether
different server.

The point is when we need to deploy our infopath form we dont want to
have infopath client installed. We want the form to read connection
string from some configuration file
so that we can just run the deployer which will configure the
connection string in infopath and we will upload our infopath form to
sharepoint.
