Deployment of Project 2007

Is there anyway to do an install of P2007 that has the effect of a GPO
assign? In other words I wish to deploy on a user rather than PC basis and I
have GPO available but not any of the up market deployment tools? I
understand that GPO deployment of Project is possible (though not
recommended) but that it only works on a machien basis and teh per user
assign/publish optyions donlt work with O 2007 programs.
